I have science colleagues that were recently scammed by email. The scammer claimed she had a bit of science equipment and she was happy to donate it to the lab. This prospective donor was responsive by email and my science friends believed her.1 All the lab had to do was send some packaging and shipping money. Of course, they never saw the money or the equipment. It’s a $400 scam.
